WHAT COVID-19 TAUGHT US
As Malta diligently deals with the challenges imposed by the Covid-19 pandemic, we are learning how to live within a new normality which keeps us and the people around us safe. Local property prices keep showing resilience to shocks the economy may suffer, living up to their reputation as being sound and safe investments. In line with this patriotic note, we decided that this issue should focus on traditional Maltese homes. We trust you will find it to be of interest and simultaneously informative as well.
Nobody saw this coming and nobody could ever imagine how a virus could stop the entire world from function in 2020. Covid-19 has brought an entire planet to its knees and there is no doubt that some countries have paid very high prices for not taking the matter more seriously right when the first cases were identified.
Having said that, the pandemic has also presented us with some positive aspects which we previously ignored or were not aware of. Firstly, we learned to appreciate how a slower pace can make things that usually go unnoticed more apparent. Sipping a coffee at 6:30am on the terrace whilst enjoying a beautiful sunrise might not have been afforded a few months back when we were rushing to get kids ready for school. We learnt how important our private spaces are and how homes need to be able to be enjoyed in order to be appreciated. Being confined to our homes for weeks on end, we have had to turn our lounges into cinemas our kitchens into restaurants, our garages into gyms, our study into classrooms or offices, our gardens and terraces to the great outdoors. A property which we can call ‘Home’ must be able to offer pleasure and enjoyment. Covid -19 made us understand that Homes are there to be appreciated. Demand for properties having good indoor areas as well as some outdoor space that can be enjoyed (good-sized terraces, gardens, roof areas and sizeable courtyards) grew exponentially.
In line with these demands, we bring you a selection of the latest properties that offer these characteristics: properties that can truly make a comfortable home.
Wishing all the very best,
